Desiree Bonner

Desiree Bonner is a bartender based in Long Beach, CA. 

Originally from Georgia, I’ve moved around my whole life. She attended 17 different schools before graduating high school. The concept of a hometown never really resonated with her.   Bartending has also taken Desiree to many different cities.

Initially, Desiree entered the hospitality industry as a way to not have four jobs and still be able to pay the bills. After more than a decade behind the bar, it’s become an obsessive passion. When Desiree is not behind the bar, she loves traveling to breweries and distilleries all over the world to taste new flavors and learn about different processes or ingredients.  Throughout her career, bartending has been her reprieve from the stresses of life as well as the means to her education. She is so grateful for the challenges and celebrations bartending has given her. Desiree has met lifelong friends and the love of her life, Robert, while bartending. It’s given her the privilege to learn some hard lessons and so much about people, life, and especially herself. 

When bartending brought Desiree to Long Beach in 2011, it was like she’d found a place that took all her favorite parts from all the places she’d ever lived. She immediately fell in love with this city. Long Beach is exactly what Desiree imagines a hometown feels like. 

Says Desiree, “I don’t know what the future holds for any of us. I do know that this little, big city will forever have a piece of my heart. Cheers Long Beach and thanks for watching me grow up!”
